APFP Project

This project helps stabilize and strengthen farm organizations through institutional capacity building and policy advocacy.  The overall goal is to contribute to an enabling environment for rural poverty reduction through instrumental support to rural smallholders and their organizations at national, sub-regional, and regional levels in Asia and the Pacific. The project’s specific objective is to ensure that farmer organizations are professionally capacitated to provide sustainable demand-driven (business and technical) services to their members and engage in effective policy dialogue towards improved livelihoods and incomes of smallholder farmers/ producers in Asia and the Pacific. In Sri Lanka, as the National Implementing Agency of APFP, SANASA International assists the Eco Ape Cooperative Network and 200 cooperative societies to provide better service to smallholder farmers to build sustainable businesses.  The project is currently working with farmers attached to 8 value chains.
