Vision: Emancipated women in a harmonious Sri Lanka.

Mission : Strengthening Sri Lankan women socially economically and spiritually to contribute effectively to build a new society based on co-operative values and principles.

Main objectives :

• Improve the quality of SANASA products and services aimed at women’s development
• Increase the opportunities for women to participate and benefit meaningfully in national development
• Increase the competencies of female officers and leaders to negotiate and succeed in their work place.
• Increase the skills of development workers to provide better service to improve the condition of women and their families

In 2009 a group of women leaders representing both volunteers and employees of the SANASA Group prepared an advocacy paper to the leaders of the SANASA Federation seeking approval to establish a separate company for women. By forming a separate company, the women leaders expected to streamline all the work targeting women’s empowerment in SANASA, cross learn from each other to minimize overlapping and maximize impact, engage more proactively with national gender streamlining work, strategize and prioritize interventions that are beneficial for women, and secure budgets for these activities.

Uththamavi Guarantee Company is the outcome of this initiative.
